Gibraltar’s sporting talent isn’t confined to the water – and this year one local name has been making waves on the track instead. Gibraltarian motorcycle racer Julian Chipolina, proudly sponsored by Pretty Sailing, put in a dominant performance at the Circuito de Jerez, taking the win in the SP-Supersport category of the Campeonato de Andalucía de Velocidad not once but twice in a single weekend, backing up a Saturday victory with another the following day.

Two race wins on the same weekend, at one of Spain’s most storied circuits, is no small feat – Jerez has hosted world championship motorcycle racing for decades and is known for testing riders as much as machines. For a rider flying the Gibraltar flag to come away with back-to-back victories there is a real point of local pride.

We don’t have to be on the water to admire a bit of speed, skill and nerve, and results like this are a reminder of just how much talent Gibraltar produces across every kind of racing – on the sea or on the tarmac.
